Discover Santorini

Welcome to Santorini, the home of myths and fables, unbeatable views, and an iconic sunset that speaks for itself. Located in the southernmost part of the Cycladic islands, it embodies a laidback glamour not found anywhere else in the world.

This surreal landscape serves as inspiration for artists, poets, and playwrights for centuries: discover yourself why Santorini holidays are so moving and extraordinary.

The great crater formed by the volcanic eruption, adds to its distinct atmosphere: settlements are built on the edge of the Caldera and not on the sea level, as in other islands. In addition, Santorini is one of the few places worldwide where architectural complexes of underground rock-hewn houses still survive inside the volcanic soil. The caldera and its vast curtain wall of multicoloured cliffs is truly awesome.

Santorini is mostly famous for its spectacular sunsets. The village of Oia on the northern tip of the island is a hugely popular sunset viewing site because there is an uninterrupted view of the sun as it finally sinks below the horizon. You can enjoy most of the sunset from almost anywhere along the rim of the caldera, especially if you want to avoid the sometimes feverish crush at Oia.

Steeped in history, Santorini has plenty of archaeological sites to visit including the ruins of Ancient Thira, Akrotiriand the Venetian fortress at Pirgos.

Santorini also offers unique accommodations, inspired by the distinct Santorinian style but also many well-known products such as wines, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh cherry tomatoes and the amazing Favabeans that are a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product.
